Tractor Trailer Involved in Tour Bus Accident
Tourists experienced another bus accident yesterday when a DC Trails bus collided with a Tractor Trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike.
The accident was almost Fatal, but the bus driver, who was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital along with a few passengers, was revived and remains in critical condition.
The impact of the crash which occurred on the N.J. Turnpike’s southbound outer roadway, just north of Exit 8A/Rt. 32 in South Brunswick was so great the trailer penetrated into the bus from the front all the way to the first 2 rows of passenger seats.
While the Transit drivers do the best they can in these situation, inexperience and a lack of training are often the cause of such accidents. Transportation and Tour companies should go a lot farther in training and retraining drivers to avoid collisions like the one that happened yesterday. You can regularly find me using the Bus Tours to New York from Saint John NB, let tell you, I feel blessed that nothing even remotely dangerous has happened to me.
