Tractor Trailer Involved in Tour Bus Accident
Tourists experienced another bus accident yesterday when a DC Trails bus collided with a Tractor Trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike.
The accident was almost Fatal, but the bus driver, who was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital along with a few passengers, was revived and remains in critical condition.
The impact of the crash which occurred on the N.J. Turnpike’s southbound outer roadway, just north of Exit 8A/Rt. 32 in South Brunswick was so great the trailer penetrated into the bus from the front all the way to the first 2 rows of passenger seats.
While the Transit drivers do the best they can in these situation, inexperience and a lack of training are often the cause of such accidents. Transportation and Tour companies should go a lot farther in training and retraining drivers to avoid collisions like the one that happened yesterday.
