Lawyers Selected in Toyota Auto Product Liability Case

Auto product defects can turn lives upside down. The Toyota sudden acceleration cases are prime examples of how defective vehicles can have a significant impact on individuals as well as families. Over the last several months, we have learned a lot about Toyota defects, which the auto maker went to great lengths to cover up and make sure that no one found out about. Sudden acceleration in several Toyota models is said to have caused at least 100 deaths over the last decade or so.

So far, more than 320 lawsuits have been filed in state and federal courts against Toyota, according to an Associated Press news report. The Japanese auto maker has recalled close to 10 million vehicles for a variety of problems including faulty gas pedals, floor mats and brakes. Toyota denies some plaintiffs’ claim that the vehicles’ electronic throttle control system is defective. The auto maker paid a record $16.4 million fine to the government for failing to report safety problems promptly.

The allegations against Toyota are extremely serious. The auto maker will put up quite a fight given its resources and abilities to secure a high-power legal defense team. That said, it is up to Philadelphia auto product liability lawyers and attorneys throughout the nation to protect the rights of consumers who have become victims in accidents involving these defective autos.
