Chrysler Recalls Vehicles for Potential Crash Risks
Dangerous vehicles in Pennsylvania can result in serious personal injuries or even deaths. We have seen numerous examples of defective autos wreaking havoc in the lives of both victims and their families. This issue has grown in prominence, especially with the recent spate of recalls involving several Toyota car models. Under our nation’s law, it is mandatory for auto makers to promptly report auto product defects – whether they are manufacturing or design defects – to the federal auto safety agency, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It is the auto maker’s responsibility to issue timely recalls for defective vehicles so that consumers’ lives are not placed in danger.
A recent recall involved about 40,000 Chrysler vehicles and included the 2010 models of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Charger and Ram, Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee. According to a WGN News report, these recalled vehicles use a wireless ignition node that sits in a cradle, to start the car. A defect may cause it to come out before the shift lever is placed in park and cause the car to move unintentionally.
If you own a recalled vehicle, it would be in your best interests to take it to a dealer right away. If you have been seriously injured in an auto accident involving defective autos, please remember that you have legal rights and can consult with a Philadelphia, PA product liability attorney. It is the responsibility of every auto maker to put safe products on the market and quickly recall vehicles that are not safe.
