Approved by the FDA in 1993, Effexor is an antidepressant categorized as an SNRI, Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. SNRI’s are used to treat major depression and mood disorders, but can also be used for the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, chronic neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and for the relief of menopausal symptoms.

Parke Hoover, a PennDot dump truck operator received a moving violation on August 2, 2011, when he struck and killed Hui Satorius who was a passenger in her husband, Dale’s vehicle. Dale Satorius, and the couple’s two young children, ages 5 and 7, were injured in the crash.

In May 2009, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter signed a cell phone ban, prohibiting the use of a hand held device, while driving. Hands-free devices such as blue tooth were exempt. First time offenders were subject to a $150 fine, which would double if caught again.
